My boyfriend raved about this banana bread when I baked it for him. I made a few changes. I used 1/3 cup of white sugar and 1/3 cup of brown sugar. I substituted 1 tblsp of butter and 2 tblsp no sugar added applesauce for the 1/3 cup of butter (just to cut back on the fat a bit). I added just a dash of cinnamon and a 1/2 tsp on vanilla. I used mini chocolate chips. I also decided to add a nice streusel topping (I think that was the boyfriend's favorite part).
Words can't explain how awesome this bread is!!! I did add some crushed walnuts to the top. My family LOVED,LOVED,LOVED it!
made it this morning and everyone in my house loved it - I let it cool though 30 minutes to make sure it wasnt still raw in the middle
I have never understood why banana bread is one of the driest breads in the world? This recipe is is exactly as titled..moist! Excellent recipe..thank you for sharing your recipe..
This is the best banana bread I've made so far! Moist and fluffy at the same time! My husband and I ate half of it within five minutes, once it came of the oven! I didn't have any baking soda at hand, so I substituted with triple the amount of baking powder and it turned out fine. I also used light brown sugar instead of white. Next time I'm adding walnuts and probably some cinnamon:-)Thanks so much for sharing this recipe!
Awesome recipe!! So delicious and easy to make, too :) Very moist - my pan was a little too big (maybe an inch wider and longer than recommended) so I baked it for 45 mins...bad idea, pretty undercooked in the middle. Probably fortunate since I would have eaten the whole thing otherwise! What was cooked was DELISH!
