A simple moist chocolate cake wth hardly any preparation or mess. Whip this up while making tea, and pop it in the oven with the rest of your meal. Serve as a cake with coffee or dessert with whipped cream or ice cream
- 1 cup sugar
- 115 g melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 egg
- 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1⁄2 cup milk
- 1 1⁄2 cups flour
- 1⁄2 cup boiling water
- 2 tablespoons baking cocoa
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Place all ingredients in a mixer bowl and beat for 4 minutes.
- Put into greased cake pan and bake 190 degrees C for 45-60 minutes.
I agree with keyboardcat...I was pretty disappointed. It turned out pretty dry and did not hold together well. This was disappointing especially since the recipe has the word "moist" in it. Maybe it was the order of ingredients?? I followed the directions to a T so I'm not too sure...
I gave this 5 stars because it is not only simple and easy to prepare but it always comes out moist and delicious! I've made it for a few different birthdays and it's always been a hit.
Awesome recipe, straight forward quick and super easy. This took my 12yo 7minutes to put in the oven and clean up his mess. Thankyou Tyrntje
