Addicting. I use becel original margarine,as it's 92% canola and sunflower oils and I use semi sweet bakers chocolate that I melt in the microwave and pour on afterwards. I put it in the freezer for 5 mins and then in the fridge.
It's a simple recipe. And it's flexible. You can use salted or unsalted butter depending on how you want the caramel to taste, i prefer salted, and i even use salted crackers. I top it off with a sweeter chocolate chaved or chips depending what i am in the mood for (and how much work i feel like putting into it lol).
Good idea but the cooking directions are not quite right. I consider my bars a flop because they are way to sugary. I expected them to be more like toffee. The Ghiradelli chocolate chips (used more than 1 cup), do taste good. Still, I will probably throw them out. I will try to perfect this recipe to my desired texture without adding and wasting the chocolate chips.
These were good. They are definitely better if kept in the refrigerator. Mine became soft if kept at room temperature.
This is GREAT!! I used Ritz crackers this time....and I have also used Saltines in the past. YUM!! I also used Ghiardelli choco chips.
These are perfect! Just be sure to whisk while the mixture is cooking and stick to the 2 minutes. Also, use good quality chocolate. They will be gone in a flash (make a double batch!)!
My Neices (ages 12 & 17) make baked goods as gifts every Christmas (well for the last 3 anyway). This is one of the items they include. It is always the first thing to go. They always said it was an easy recipe....well what do you know. I love these things!!!
Such a good and AFFORDABLE dessert! I messed up a little, the chocolate didn't spread well. Could have been the low quality (generic) chocolate thoguh. Wonderful taste, YUMMMM
I make Skor Bars for all parties and functions I attend and they are a hit everywhere! I use milk chocolate chips - trust me, it makes the Skor Bar taste much better than using semi-sweet. Everyone must try this recipe!
Good. I think I messed up the caramel layer b/c it was pretty grainy, but it was still out of this world. Thanks.
