For a change, or for people who can't eat cooked beans! Adapted from vegparadise. Great in tortillas, as a dip, a sandwich filling, or any way you would use refried beans. Prep time does not include soaking nuts overnight.

  1. Put tomatoes into the food processor and process until thoroughly pureed.
  2. Add cumin, onion, and garlic and process.
  3. Add sunflower seeds and almonds and process to desired texture. For a creamier consistency, process longer.

Fabulous live vegan recipe guide...I made 1/2 batch was shy on cumin so added chili powder to compensate...then like the spice it lent so added hot peppers picked from my garden and diced...liked the texture it added so added more diced onion and finally felt the need to add some lovely sun-dried tomatoes that were on hand- to lend a bite of salt and "chewiness" {all this was additional to the initial guidelines of the recipe...as a live food recipe it can evolve differently each time it is created...:) } really good...very versatile- Thanks Sharon123 :)

I tried to make this using my blender and it got bogged down. I wish I had a food processor. If I get one, I will try it again. It's a good idea. Made this for Zaar Tag.
