My Husband and I loved this recipe. It was simple and delicious ! The only change I made was to add onion and garlic powder along with other seasonings. Thank you for the recipe !!!

WOW!! I just made these and they are great!!! I figured out how to get them really thin and not have them fall apart! Don't flatten them in your hands, put the dredging flour in a baking pan and press them into the flour to flatten them. I did as another reviewer and seasoned the patties before flouring, added paprika and onion powder to the flour and I also used a packed gravy mix. These were excellent. I will definitely be making these again! Thank you Thank you!

Lovely, the whole family loved it! Just a hint: I always buy the leanest ground beef; took a warning about dryness and just squeezed about 1/3 cup of olive oil into the hamburger before shaping. Better for you that way. Thanks for posting this!!

I made this last night with ground venison and it was wonderful! I will definitely make this again. the only other thing I did different was use a breading mixture my dad makes up which contains flour, bisquick, corn bread mix, lawrys and pepper...it has a lot of seasoning so I didn't add any to the meat. I thought it was the perfect amount of gravy for the meat and side of mashed potatoes. YUM!!!

So good. I made this last night with mashed potatoes and cheezy green beans. My family loved it. I did have a bit of trouble keeping the meat together while trying to flour and egg it, but I just took the pieces that fell off and we had little nuggets too! thank you for sharing with us, we loved them.

Tasty! The family enjoyed these. While preparing, I thought they were probably more work than chicken fried steak, but the recipe gets extra points for using simple ingredients I always keep on hand. And there was enough yummy gravuy for mashed potatoes. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

AWESOME!! I love this recipe. I added A1, onion and garlic powder to the gound beef. Added smoked papirka to the flour. I've tried different ways the fried beef but this one was the best by far. :)

This was a hit! My husband loved it. The second time I made it, I got inspired by a meatloaf recipe that we love and added finely diced and sauteed portabello mushrooms, carrots, celery and onions to the meat mixture. Also subbed Montreal Steak seasoning for salt and pepper. Served with jar gravy, mashed potatos and peas ... made him a very happy man! I intend to serve this regularly.

This was extremely yummy! (That is what I heard between bites!) We enjoyed this very much and will be a go to recipe when we are craving a good cfs. It was very easy to make I did sub Montreal steak seasoning for the salt and pepper, other wise made as stated. Yum Yum!! Thank you for sharing!!

This was SO easy and very tasty! I loved how tender it was compared to using cube steak. The gravy was delicious. I seasoned my meat with some Montreal Steak Seasoning before making the patties and otherwise followed the recipe exactly. My DD is picky and she raved "Oh Mom, this is SOOOO good!" Anything that pleases her pleases me.. 5 stars! :D

My family gobbled this up. I added onion powder & paprika to the beef before making the patties. It did take a little longer to cook than stated.

Whoops! Forgot to post a review! This was actually really good! I'm not a real big ground beef fan, but I LOVE a good CFS. Wasn't quite there, but was close enough to offer the same type of comfort. Will make again soon as the rest of the family loved it too. Only problems I had was that they browned a bit too soon and were slightly burnt in spots. Easy to fix next time. Thanks for posting!

I thought this was really, really good. I always have bad luck with gristles in the cubed steak. This dish has the same flavor, but without the tough spots. I salted and peppered my ground beef before I formed it into patties, and that gave a nice flavor all the way through the meat. I didn't make the gravy from scratch. Instead I used a packet of McCormick's. I will definitely be making this again!

I had been craving CFS and wondered if it could be done with ground beef as I didn't have any steak. I found this recipe and gave it a whirl although I made a few changes. I knew I'd want more seasoning, so I added additional seasoning salt and used Montreal Steak Seasoning instead of pepper in my flour. Also, I added one egg and a tablespoon or so of seasoned bread crumbs to the ground beef before shaping into patties. As for the gravy, I used seasoning salt and added a dash of garlic powder. Overall, it was okay, but I think next time I'll try using bread crumbs instead of flour for a crispier coating. Thanks for the recipe. UPDATE: Made this again...this time closer to the original recipe instructions...EXCEPT added garlic powder, and additional salt/pepper in my flour, then dipped in egg, then in PANKO bread crumbs. Staying truer to the original recipe was definitely the easier and better way to go.

i was so impressed with how this turned out. i love chicken fried steak. It was crazy how good the ground beef was. It tasted just like a normal chicken fried steak, but moister. The extra gravy is perfect for mashed potatoes. i did add meat tenderizer to the flour for extra flavor. Superb recipe! Thanks!!

Pretty tasty! I don't have chicken fried steak very often, but every now and then, I just crave some. This was nicely juicy and tender. I even made the gravy to go with it, and I detest gravy. My DS was eating the gravy straight from a bowl with a spoon, so it must have tasted okay. :)

I love chicken Fried steak but because of dental problems often have a difficult time with it. I was craving Chicken Fried Steak sandwiches the other night and tried your recipe. The meat was so tender and you would never know it was hamburger. It looked and tasted exactly like my wife's wonderful CF Steak!

These were good, but I had a little user error. I didn't make my patties thin enough, and they plumped up as they cooked. Our meal was like burgers with country gravy and mashed potatoes. I did add some garlic and onion powders to the ground beef for additional flavor, and used seasoned salt in the gravy, as well. It was a good, hearty meal, but not something that we will probably make again. We just like the real deal too much.

This was delicious! I have 4 picky eaters (3 kiddos & 1 hubby) and they loved this recipe. Hubby said the gravy was really good.

Loved the taste of these...especially with the gravy. My only problem was that I had a terrible time keeping the patties together as I moved them from the flour to egg to flour. It was highly frustrating...not sure what I was doing wrong. I will try again though ;)
