We made this for Christmas. The only thing we did different was to use maraschino cherry juice instead of grenadine. We liked this. Thanks Sharon123. Bullwinkle.

This was really good. I didn't boil the sugar and water syrup though, i just stirred until they were dissolved. I added pear juice instead of grapefruit, i don't like the sourness of grapefruit. This was very bubbly and sweet, good if you like asti. Thanks for a good alternative to alcohol!

When I tried to mix the sugar mixture with the juices, the first time I attempted this recipe, the sugar mixture just turned to hard candy. On my second attempt, I boiled the sugar, water, and juices together to form a syrup. Then I added the grenadine and gingerale when the first mixture had cooled. I used ruby red grapefruit juice(my favorite) and an unsweetened orange juice.A friend suggested also using lemonade instead of grapefruit for those who do not like the grapefruit. Thanks for this recipe!
