This is a really nice basic recipe, although I needed to add 6 cups of water instead of 2 cups. Also I added at the end some cumin, cinnamon, and pepper to enhance the flavor.

  1. fry onion in olive oil until golden brown.
  2. add in lentils, rice, water and salt.
  3. bring to boil.
  4. turn down to low/med heat and cook for approx 20 minutes or until rice and lentils are tender.
