When I was growing up we called it a chocolate mayo cake. Everyone thought it would be nasty with mayo being in it and my bother told everyone it was nasty so there would be more for him. LOL

I found the baking temp too high. And it doesn't taste that sweet. Then again, I'm no professional. Also, I didn't find any reason to grease the pan.

My mom always made this cake, when I was a kid and she still does occasionally. She always frosted it with peanut butter icing. This is a moist and delicious cake! Thanks for posting this. I was going to, but saw that you already had.

I made this cake today for Naag Panchmi since it was eggless and it fitted the bill, plus its CHOCOLATE too:) It turned out wonderful and I had a great time decorating it with guess what - EASTER BUNNIES cup cake decoration that I'd got back from Orlando!! It tastes wonderful and in my opinion, its a good picnic cake! This one's a true keeper! Please note: You forgot to mention that the baking tin in which this is to be baked has to be GREASED! Just a pointer for newbies to cake making:) Thank you very much indeed for this recipe.
