These are really cute and kids just love the salty/sweet combination....they don't have to know this is a healthy alternative to Halloween snacks! Fun for the lunch box! I use the organic "smooshed" fruit rolls - yum!

My husband thought I was crazy for making these, but the kids loved them. I used generic fruit roll-ups. It took about an hour and half to make 50 of them. I made halloween worms as well (recipe 3092). One classroom gobbled up the worms, the other wouldn't touch them. The brooms, however, were gone in minutes. Thanks!
- 1 fruit roll-up (you can mix up colors as well!)
- pretzel stick
Directions See How It's Made
- For each one broom, cut a 2" strip from a fruit roll.
- Fringe the bottom of the strip with a paring knife, leaving a 1/4-inch border uncut along the top, to create thin broom bristles.
- Moisten the upper edge of the fruit with a drop of water and tightly wrap it around one end of a thin pretzel-stick broom handle.
