Time consuming but well worth it! The sauce just takes these to another level. I made the sauce & chicken mixture in the morning and refrigerated till I was ready to assemble. My guest could'nt get enough!
These were okay. My husband really liked them but aside from that everyone else seemed fairly neutral. Probably won't make them again since I have recipes for tastier things that require a little less trouble (phyllo is never any fun.)
I made some of these up ahead to have for my upcoming party. They are so delicious!
I had never worked with phyllo dough, and it was a lit tough (kind of flaky, probably needed extra butter to stick together). But the flavor was really great! Everyone loved it, and the sauce made it even better. Thanks!!
I made these chicken cigars yesterday at work and they were very yummy. I made a few changes; I didn't have poultry seasoning or grill seasoning so I just used some McCormicks Season-All and I didn't add the chili because kids were eating them. I also didn't make the sauce, we just used some mild sweet chili sauce and that was great. They were so quick and easy to make and would be a great finger food for parties. I must have made them double the recommended size because I only ended up with 32 cigars but they were still a good size. Thanks Sharlene for a yummy recipe.
I only made the chicken cigars as a trail run for an uncoming get together, the only change I made was I added in a little fresh garlic to the ground chicken mixture and a pinch of cayenne, thanks for sharing this great appetizer recipe, I look forward to making them again!...Kitten:)
These were very good :) Thanks for posting such a great recipe!! The plum sauce (even by itself) goes great with the "cigars".
these were very easy to make and tasted wonderful...great appetizer...
Yumm!I made these for a family party and we all loved them!
These were enjoyed by all. Will most definiatly be made again. Very easy to make. As suggested by Marlene, I also brushed melted butter on one half of the recipe, and sprayed the other half (canola oil spray is what I had on hand). I did brush all the tops with butter and could not tell the difference. So next time I will spray all since it is alot faster and easier. Thank you for posting
