This is an adopted recipe. There was a mistake in the ingredient amount which has already been corrected. Please feel free now to try it out!
- 1⁄2 lb butter (NO substitutes)
- 1 2⁄3 cups sugar
- 5 eggs, divided
- 2 cups cake flour
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Drop in eggs one at a time, stirring after each.
- Fold in flour and mix well.
- Add vanilla.
- Bake in 350 degree Fahrenheit oven for about 50 minutes.
I just found this today, and tried it for the first time, simply delicious!! I served it with a fresh strawberry sauce, everyone loved it
I have to tell you, I never made Pound cake before and your recipe was easy!!! Well I will definetly make it again!! I added( Spiced rum poured all over it ) and let it set for a few days and it's a winner.. I really liked the taste even before the RUM!.. I will make it again!! Very good!
i liked it and thought it was very easy to make. the flavor was very good and buttery...the cake in the middle was nice and soft. just the bottom was a little hard but it was very good though..will make it again.
