Mildred's Sugar Cookies

"Mildred was a neighbor of mine growing up. I was always bugging her to make her famous cookies. I miss her. Mom came across her recipe in an old box of recipes. Thank you Mildred!!"

ingredients

• 4 1⁄2 cups sifted flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1⁄2 teaspoon nutmeg
• 2 eggs
• 1 cup sour cream
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 cup butter
• 1 1⁄2 cups sugar
• 1 1⁄2 teaspoons vanilla
• colored crystal sugar (optional)

directions

1. Mix all ingredients.
2. Chill for one hour.
3. Roll and cut.
4. (I use cutters) Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes on ungreased baking sheet.
5. Sprinkle with colored sugar.
