"First created in a T.G.I Friday’s restaurant in Busan, Korea, this cocktail has become a hit in bars around the world. June Bug is another name for the cotinis nitida beetle, a bug which inhabits the trees of hardwood forests. The June Bug cocktail was probably named for its brownish golden color which resembles that of the beetle. It also shares a soft, velvety texture with the creatures, whose bodies are covered in fine, silky hairs." This recipe is a little different than the ones already posted on 'Zaar. It is taken from the Midori.com website and posted for ZWT.
- 2 ounces Midori melon liqueur (melon liqueur)
- 1 1⁄2 ounces coconut rum (Malibu is a fave!)
- 2 ounces pineapple juice
- Shake ingredients together and pour into a glass.
- (Shaking the ingredients creates a delicious fusion of flavors, but the drink can also be enjoyed by layering the ingredients and enjoying each one in its own right.).
A belated toast to the nuptial's of Kate and Prince William. Yeah, I was invited, but I didn't want it to conflict with anything else in my life. Keep that to yourself, because "mum's" the word.
Yummy drink. I made it as a martini since my freezer is still broken - and it's good without the ice too. Thanks alli. Made by an Unruly Under the Influence for ZWT6 Family Picks.
Great drink! Made as directed and served over ice. Loved the melon/coconut combo - thanks for sharing the recipe! Made for ZWT6, Zwizzle Chicks
