After recently having my first taste of Midori I have been thinking of different ways to enjoy it and this was something I came up with tonight. I did see a few recipes for similar drinks, but none are quite like this one. Salt optional, but if you are a lover of salt like me I would go ahead and use it! And use as much or as little ice as you prefer to get your desired consistency. For me this is on the stronger side, but then again I am not a big drinker. Don't mind the silly name... my husband came up with it after a few of these lol.
- 3 ounces Midori melon liqueur
- 2 ounces lime tequila (we used Jose Cuervo Lime)
- 2 ounces margarita mix
- 1 ounce coconut milk
- lime juice (for rimming)
- Combine all but the salt and lime juice in a blender and blend to desired consistency.
- Dip rim of glass in lime juice and then into salt.
Fabulous!!! This is some creation. I used Jose Cuervo Classico tequila which has a touch of lemon flavor. The touch of coconut milk mellows and smooths the tequila ever so slightly. I used quite a bit of ice so I got 2 servings. I'll be making this one for my mom the next time she visits.
