Well I thought this was a great recipe!! I didn't have ground mustard so I used a squirt of grainy yellow mustard and it had a nice taste to it. Grandkids LOVED this recipe. Thanks for sharing!!

I wanted something more than the usual box mix. This was quick, but had too much sauce. It does thicken up upon standing, but I would use more noodles next time. I added 1 tsp Worc. sauce and used sharp cheddar cheese. The mac 'n chz hater did like this! I think she's sick of the box mix. I cooked it for 9 min at step 7, but the noodles were overcooked. All in all, a great dish. Dh liked it too. Oh, and I used the same 2.5 ltr dish and it didn't boil over. Go figure!

nice but a little flat in taste and a bit too much sauce(probably my fault though). i added some parmesan to give it a twist. bit more mustard would be great.. all in all easy to make and a great idea! will do it again, only spicier!

Looking for a quick ingredients straight out of the pantry recipe? This is it! And it’s one where you can easily throw in a bit of this and that: odds and ends that need using up. I made this some weeks ago, and I distinctly remember writing a review; but I must have failed to click the appropriate button! This is NOT the usual sort of recipe I opt to make, but I am trying to add a few microwave recipes to my repertoire for times when this is a convenient option, and I’m glad to have tried this recipe for that reason. I heeded LonghornMama’s advice, and made this in a deep 2.25 litre Tupperware container, so I managed to avoid the boiling over problem which I have encountered in the past with other recipes. I wasn’t making this for children, so there was no need to make it kid friendly. I added 6 cloves of garlic, one sliced leek, a teaspoon of dry oregano and about two cups of sliced mushrooms, so also I added slightly more water and slightly more milk. Creamy, delicious and enjoyed by those I served it to, including one harder to please than your average kid octogenarian who delights in saying that the herbs in the recipes I make have given him indigestion!

Great kid-friendly one dish recipe! Very mild flavor. I used a 2.5 ltr Corning Ware dish and it boiled over in step 4, so watch carefully. The macaroni wasn't tender after step 7, probably due to the boil over, so I added about a cup more milk and kept cooking. The result was very creamy and mild. Added a bit more salt and chopped the onion very finely to hide it from the kids. Homemade mac and cheese in about the time of making the old blue box but with no wierd orange color. Thanks, Chris, we'll be making this again!
