I followed the directions exactly except I just mixed the ingredients directly into the 8x8 glass pan with a fork. (Edit: I suggest beating or whisking for at least 1 minute, or else you'll get dense brownies.) I omitted the nuts. I also substituted Alterna (Wal-Mart's version of Splenda) for the sugar and a Country Crock spread for the butter. I microwaved it for about 4 minutes, which was definitely enough for my microwave. It came out great! It was cake-like, rather than fudge-y, which I still liked. Just 2 1/2 minutes in the microwave was perfect. For those you plan on using a sugar substitute, I suggest going 50% real sugar + 50% sugar substitute so you don't get so much of a soda-like aftertaste. Thanks for this simple recipe!
