    Panda Rose's Note:

I foudn this recipe yesterday and made it stright away. I am posting it so that I don't lose the recipe as it can be made last minute. I used the end of the challa, instead of brioche. Use whatever you have handy. I think next time I might pop it under te grill for that crispy topping you don't get in the microwave.

5 stars for an amazingly quick pudding recipe that can be made at the last minute, and with leftover brioche I had! I STILL prefer the baked version of bread and butter pudding, as I am a sucker for the little toasty bits on the edges, but this was really GREAT for a microwave version, and I am KEEPING this recipe for the future! I made this exactly as posted - there is a small error in the instructions, it does not say to add the sugar; I had already made and poured the custard over the brioche before I realised, so I sprinkled the sugar over the top instead - I used my own Old English Spiced and Fruited Sugar for Apple Pies Etc!, which has mixed spice in it! I think I may do that in the future as it made for a slightly crispy topping. We ate this after a simple soup lunch with a squirt of chantilly cream. Thanks Panda Rose. Made for PAC Autumn 2008. FT:-)
