    This is also a huge hit recipe of my family's. People down South have rarely ever tried these delicious goodies but that just makes them even more anxious for when we make batches of them at Christmas-time!

    Ingredients:

    Directions:

      Mix and bring to a boil the sugar, cocoa, milk, and butter.

      Cool slightly, add vanilla, peanut butter, and oatmeal. Mix well.

      Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper and let cool a couple of hours.

      Enjoy!

      I am 55 years old and native to Tennessee. These cookies were served every week in elementary school. I love to make them as well. This is actually my favorite! I don't use fat free margrine or skim milk. I use butter and 2% milk.

      Same here. We live in TN and everyone I know of has been making these for as long as I can remember, some with a few differences. I also let the sugar and stuff boil for 3 mins exactly and I don't use fat free margarine. These are so good though. Thanks!
