This was an excellent variation on black beans -- spicy and flavorful. These were great and so easy to prepare. I did use part orange bell pepper since I had some that needed using. Thanks for sharing! ZWT8

Holy Moly, these were yummy. We eat a ton of beans on my husband's low carb diet but these made them a treat not just something to suffer through. It is going straight in the keeper binder!

Great low calorie recipe. Did not use any oil or salt. Soaked dry beans overnight and placed all ingredients in slow cooker on low for 7 hours.

These were excellent. I served them with rice and grilled adobo chicken thighs. The only thing that I would do different would be to add more spice as they weren't quite as spicy as we like. I used two 15 oz cans of black beans in place of the dry beans. Thanks for posting this Lazyme!

The beans were soaked overnight and everything except salt and jalapeno were added to the crock pot and cooked all day. The beans were turned to high about 30 minutes before serving, the salt was added along with the jalapeno. These were served with Enchiladas Suiza.

Lazyme, these were WONDERFUL beans...spicey! We loved them with grilled jalepeno chicken and cornbread. This was really easy to put together and we even fought over the leftovers :) Thanks for a new quick and easy black bean recipe! Made for PAC Spring 2009 !
