This is so soothing and a great source of calcium! From an almond site.
- 828.06 ml milk
- 118.29 ml water
- 78.07 ml almond butter
- 14.79 ml cocoa powder
- 4.92 ml cinnamon
- 3.69 ml almond extract
- sugar, to taste (or artificial sweetener)
- Combine all ingredients except almond extract and sweetener in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, whisking constantly, until mixture is smooth and comes to a boil. Remove from heat. Stir in almond extract, sweeten to taste and serve.
Mmmm.... I have this big tin of Crema de Almendras from Spain and I have been wondering what to do with it. Well, it was perfect in this very nice hot chocolate!
Wonderful smooth hot chocolate! I used rice milk, no water and toasted almond butter and added a little piece of 90 percent chocolate. Will definitely make this again! Thanks for posting! Made for Comfort Cafe Snowqueen's Round 2010.
Really special! Such rich flavor and smooth and creamy from the almond butter. Actually, I think any nut butter would work. Going to try it with peanut butter. Made for Winter 2010 Comfort Cafe game.
