This is a wonderful recipe and I love how light the cookies are. I added the coco and walnuts instead of chocolate chips and it worked great! I also added Splenda instead of sugar to cut calories which worked as well. Thanks so much for the recipe

If I could give 10 stars I would - I LOVE this recipe! Delicious :) Made them for friends and they loved them too! I increase cream of tartar to 1/4 tsp (stiffer peaks) and frequently skip the vanilla. I also have to have my oven more like 225 degrees, or to have them more solid (vs crisp outside and slightly soft inside), preheat your oven to 300 or so and then put them in and turn the oven off and leave them in overnight to cook on retained heat (that's how DH likes them). The pics I posted are the normal way though :) If you do the overnight - they are paler on the outside which would work well if you wanted to create a meringue "bowl" to put a small scoop of chocolate ice cream in - which is a fun dessert with company :)

These are fairly easy to make and quite tasty! Be careful if you chose to put cocoa in them, too much or the wrong kind can weigh them down.

I made this recipe for a friend who has celiac disease. He LOVED them! My family loved them, too. They ARE addictive. I used 1 cup mini chocolate chips & 1 cup chopped pecans. Thanks for posting!

Addictive is right; I keep sneaking back for just one more bit. Little light clouds that I used cinnamon mini chips in. Used the walnuts and next time I'm going to try the chocolate. Made for Photo Forum 2010 Holiday

Chef #798586 may have tried to make these on a humid type day. Or maybe she got some yolk in the egg white. So sad as they are a wonderful meringue cookie.

I shared these with my coworkers and they loved them. They were all gone at the end of the day. I substituted raisins for chocolate chips.

I had a terrible time with these. I am sorry They never stiffened. These cookies are hard to make no matter who ya are. I just had a terrible time. Sorry. I am sure they would of been good.

I make these, but I remove them from the oven prior to being fully set up, and make a thumb print in them. Then I add canned berries (pie fillers) into the hole, whipped cream from the can around the outside for decoration, and I finish it off with a sprig of chocolate.

I used mini chocolate chips and omitted the nuts. Very light and airy! We love them!
