- Whip the whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form gradually adding 1 tablespoon of sugar at a time.Beat a couple of minutes.
I used this merigue recipe to top a lemon pie. I didn't have cream of tartar though and it still turned out great.
Yum! I could (and did, actually) eat this meringue with a spoon! I used it to top my homemade banana pudding! It was my first time making meringue, and the directions here were simple and easy to follow. The only thing I wished was included was a description of what the meringue is supposed to look like when it's done (so newbies like me don't agonize over things like that). I just guessed, and it turned out great. Thanks for sharing!
