Melt Aways have a really tender, kind of texture, they melt in your mouth. I love these, they are so delicate.
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 large egg, seperated
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chopped pecans, divided
- Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Add sugar, beat well. Add egg yolk and vanilla, beat well. Gradually add flour, beating well. Stir in 1/2 cup pecans. Spread dough evenly in a lightly greased 15 x 10 inch jelly roll pan.
- Beat egg white until foamy; brush evenly over dough. Sprinkle with remaining pecans. Bake at 350F for 20-25 minutes or until ightly browned. Cool completely. Cut into bars.
