From Moms Grey Cookbook. These are cookies mom used to make for Christmas, delicious and melt in your mouth wonderfull.
- 1 cup butter or 1 cup margarine
- 1⁄2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 1⁄4 cups flour, sifted
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 teaspoons water
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup nuts, chopped
- Cream butter, sugar, salt, vanilla, and water together. Beat in Flour a little at a time, until fully incorporated.
- Stir in nuts and chill.
- Form dough into balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until pale golden. While still hot roll in sifted powdered sugar.
These little cookies are just delicious. They are so simple and easy to fix. Will make again. Thanks for posting.
Oh my goodness! These are the cookies I remember growing up with! Thank you ChaCha! I will be making these for years to come!
