  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine the flour and baking soda.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the veg. shortening and sugar.
  4. Beat in the egg yolk and the honey.
  5. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
  6. Pinch off walnut-sized pieces of dough and roll into balls.
  7. Roll the balls in granulated sugar and place 1 1/2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 10-12 mins., until lightly colored.
  9. Transfer to wire racks to cool.
