We really enjoyed this nice easy dish. I didn't have any oregano so I omitted that. I used spaghetti sauce instead of tomato sauce. Thanks for a great recipe.
We loved this one! I followed the directions exactly, other than using Italian breadcrumbs, since that's all I had on hand. I'll keep doing that in the future, as we all thought it added that extra bit of flavor. Thanks for the yummy recipe!
Another 5* recipe right here folks! Down-to-earth and down home, this one is sure to please from the lil ones right up to the men in the house. We loved it here and made just like the recipe says, except I used brown rice instead of instant. Will have this one again for sure!
We just loved this simple but flavorful meal! The rice/tomato sauce mixture on the top and in the center is just perfect. I didn't have any onions (shame on me to not have onions!) but I used a generous helping of onion powder and it was great. Huge hit here and will be a regular at our house for sure! Thanks for sharing!
Loved this idea, MarieAlice-- what a fantastic one-pan dish. In my variation, I used lean ground turkey instead of beef, enchilada sauce instead of tomato sauce, and monterey jack instead of cheddar cheese. My husband loved it-- thanks!
This was really good, a nice twist on the traditional and oh so easy to make! Only deviation I made from the recipe is that for the 1/4 cup of peppers, I mixed green, red & orange peppers, other than that I made as posted and we really enjoyed it.
This was a really great recipe. Both myself and my husband loved it. It was very easy to make and was delicious!!!! I'm always looking for new recipes for ground beef. Also this is a recipe that I can use on the diets we are on. Thanks for sharing. It is a keeper!!!!
This was great. Made it for supper this week. It was easy and tasty. Thanks.
Yes, MarieAlice, simple, easy and delicious. Even my kids loved this! Something different to do with ground beef, too. Didn't have instant rice, so used precooked rice. No green peppers either, substituted with celery. Both worked well.
MarieAlice-I make a variation of your recipe. Our basics are same. My variation is to use sauteed onion slices, rather than chopped, and tomato slicesbetween the rice and cheese layers. As photo indicates, cooking is easy in a cast iron skillet. Slices well into wedges for serving. Thanks for posting!
