This was given to me by a friend. It is by far my favorite meatloaf!
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (about 2 slices)
- 3⁄4 cup milk
- 1 1⁄2 lbs ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1⁄4 cup brown sugar
- salt and pepper
- 1⁄2 cup catsup
- Add bread crumbs to milk and let set a few minutes.
- Mix in egg, brown sugar, salt and pepper.
- Add meat and mix.
- Finally, add catsup.
- Pat into 2 loaves.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
This is the first meatloaf in twenty years that my husband actually liked! Thank you!!! Believe me, I have tried them ALL!! Was great hot with potatos and equally great cold on sandwiches, its a keeper!

My niece makes a meatloaf that everyone raves about. When asked how she does it, she said one ingredient is brown sugar added to the meat. This tastes just like hers! The only difference is, she stuffs her meat loaf with bread stuffing. I am going to use your recipe and stuff it next time. Thank you so much for posting this. Delicious! My grandaughter who hates onions in her meatloaf, loves this too!
