directions

  • Mix the ground beef, sasuage, salt, pepper, chili powder, onion, crackers, 1 beaten egg and 1 cup tomato juice.
  • Shape into balls about the size of walnuts and bake at 350 about 30 minutes, turn and bake about 20 more minutes.
  • You can drain the drippings off or leave them, sometimes I leave them if there is not too much grease.
  • Mix remaining juice, cornstarch, a little chile powder and some of the dripping from the pan, I warm the sauce up in the microwave just a little before putting in the hot pan.
  • Put back in the oven till juice thickens or is good and bubbly.

  1. This recipe was fantastic, though used Vegetable juice instead the tomato juice. Recipe had a nice clean taste to it. Served it with Cracked Pepper Lemon Pasta #103397

I am 54 years old, female, I live in Russellville, Arkansas. Married, two grown daughters, three grandsons, 18, 15, 13, all have birthdays coming up. Two step grandchildren, a boy 7, girl 4. I spoil them all rotten. Like to play slot machines, cook, sew, read, cross stitch and work in my flower beds. My husband says I have too many flower beds, he gets tired of mowing around them. I am not a great gardener, but I sill like to try. My favorites are spring flowering bulbs. I have a job, work for a local chiropractor as his assistant and x-ray tech. I have worked in chiropractic for about 20 years. I bought a new car in 1999, my first car with my name on the title, it is a mercury cougar, the color is autumn orange, my middle grandson likes to drive me around everytime he gets a chance.
