      We enjoyed this dish. I used ground turkey and omitted the green pepper. I did not have jarred mushrooms, and sauteed fresh mushrooms instead with a lid to keep the juices. I made 1/2 a recipe of the meatballs but kept the sauce the same and we did not have a whole lot extra, so if you are inclined to up the sauce amount do not hesitate. I served over noodles.

      I made this recipe yesterday and tonight my son was asking for these meatballs again but it was not on the menu even though I have leftovers. He'll have to wait for tomorrow. So as you can see, it's really a kid-pleaser recipe. Even me and DH likes it. I'll be doing this recipe again in the near future. I used fresh mushrooms that I cooked in the microwave a little bit to obtain the juice that I added to the sauce. Perfect! Thanks Loof :) Made for the Australian Recipe Swap for December 2011

      I'm grading this on the way I made it. In place of the meat meatballs I used soy veggie balls. First, I just love the things and and the 5 that I ate had 120 calories and 0.04 g of sat fat. The sauce is delicious! I used low fat soup and fat free coffee creamer with added lemon juice for the milk thus lowering the fat even more. loof hon, I'm sorry for mangling your recipe but it sounded so good and I really have to be watching what I eat because I have slacked off a lot since ZWT and my last reveling blood test was awful. On the bright side, it still tasted fantastic, Oh yeah! I served it with brown rice and steamed broccoli.

      These were a big hit in our household. I'd never tried using rice as a binder before when making meatballs, but they came out really good, not dry as sometimes happens when I use breadcrumbs. I sauteed a little bit of onion and added it to the gravy mixture, but made the rest exactly as written. I prepared some extra rice and served the meatballs & gravy over it. The sauce is SO good and the meatballs so juicy, writing this review makes me wish I had some leftovers to eat now. YUM!

      I used the recipe for the sauce and I cooked it with frozen turkey meatballs over quinoa. It was a hit! delish.
