Very fast, easy recipe. My kids loved it. Came from a cookbook that came with my first microwave in early 1980's. These meatballs microwave very quickly because of the moist pineapple filling.

  1. Drain pineapple well, reserving syrup.
  2. Mix together beef, egg, bread crumbs, onion, salt, cloves, allspice and 2 T of pineapple syrup.
  3. Mold small amount of mixture around each pineapple chunk.
  4. Place meatballs in 12x8x2 inch dish.
  5. Cover with wax paper.
  6. Microwave at high 4 minutes.
  7. Pour off meat juices.
  8. Stir together rest of syrup, ketchup and brown sugar.
  9. Pour over drained meatballs.
  10. Microwave at high 3 to 5 minutes longer, until done.
  11. Serve with rice or noodles or serve with toothpicks as an appetizer.
  12. Makes about 24 to 30 meatballs.
