This is a wonderful little appetizer we serve after Christmas Midnight Mass in our house.
- 1 lb minced ham
- 1 lb ground pork
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1⁄2 cups brown sugar (packed)
- 3⁄4 cup white vinegar
- 3⁄4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon dry mustard
- Meatballs: Mix all ingredients and form into 1" meatballs.
- Sauce: Mix well and pour over meatballs.
- Bake at 325 F.
- for 1 hour.
- Baste frequently.
Did not use the meat ingredients but did make the sauce. No one in my family could get pass the vinegar taste. I liked it.
Good recipe. I also used premade meatballs and put them in a crockpot with the sauce. Turned out really good.
Excellent. I made these for a family get together (although I used ready made meatballs). They went very quickly and everyone wanted the recipe. Very easy. Also, I used a crock pot instead of baking in the oven.
