Declicious sauce to simmer meatballs in for a party. This was given to me by my sister-in-law years ago and everytime I make it, I have extra copies of the recipe for my guests.

Ingredients Nutrition

 1. Brown onion in 1 tablespoon of butter. Add all the ingredients, including the onion into a pot or crockpot.
 2. The original recipe said to simmer meatballs (I use about 50 frozen meatballs)in sauce for 2 hours, however I have simmered them in a crockpot all day. For a party, I put all the ingredients, including the meatballs in the crockpot and put it in the refrig. overnight. The next day, I plug in the crockpot, stir once in a while and enjoy!

Great tasty recipe really easy to make and had all the ingredients on hand. I did use store bought meatballs. I could not stop eating the sauce the whole time it was cooking. My husband and son wolfed down their dinner like a famine was coming, my very fussy son almost didn't stop for air he was shovelling the food in as fast as he could. Was great to see him eat a FULL plate of food. Will definately made this dish again. Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe.

My crockpot didn't get the sauce simmering so I transferred it to a deep sauce pan on the stove top and worked out perfectly.

This is absolutely the best meatball recipe ever!!!!! Everybody at my party loved it. The only thing I changed was that I used Dijon mustard, since I didn't have regular mustard. Donna thanks for posting this :-)

Great, sweet sauce for meatballs! I would reduce the amount of vinegar next time I make it though, it was too strong for my taste.
