This is a great substitute
- 3 egg yolks
- 118.29 ml sugar
- 78.07 ml half-and-half cream
- 425.24 g container ricotta cheese
- 236.59 ml heavy whipping cream, whipped (35%, measure 1 cup after whipping)
- In a heavy-bottomed saucepan whisk egg yolks, sugar and cream; simmer over low heat for 2-3 minutes then cool.
- Fold in ricotta cheese and whipped cream until blended.
