Nice flavour, but needs more moisture to save it from mediocrity. This wasn't a bad cake, but not up to our usual high standards. I didn't swirl the chocolate properly, which is my fault, but the cake itself came out extremely dry. I baked it for 1 hour at 350 degrees, as indicated, but I suspect that dumping a whole cup of water into a cake recipe is not a secret formula for having it turn out moist n' delicious. The kids, who basically eat anything, didn't love this cake either, and in the end, it went mostly untouched.

I made this into a bundt cake. I used 2 of the parve dark chocolate bars that were available at our local kosher market (Toblerone was all marked kosher Dairy). Came out a bit more like muffin than cake but was a hit! Only the crumbs were left at our Hanukkah party! :)

This was delicious - didn't even make it to the freezer, and there are only 3 people living in our house! I don't like to use margarine, so I used only 1/2 cup marg (1 stick) plus 1/2 cup canola oil, and it was fine. I plan to try it with only 1 cup oil next time. It did have to bake significantly longer than the recipe said, but I'm not sure if that was due to incorrect baking time, the oil I used instead of the marg, or my temperamental oven which just won't bake sometimes. It was very hard to test this cake for doneness, because even when it is done, a knife/toothpick/cake tester inserted won't come out clean due to the chocolate being melted, even if the batter is actually baked. But this way I was able to sample a tiny piece every time I went to check on it after baking a few minutes longer;) ! When it was finally done, this was a really fabulous cake, and other than the checking every so often after the recommended baking time ran out, it was pretty easy to make...even with my 3-year-old's help. I didn't feel like "wasting" the more expensive pareve Torino chocolate bars on a cake, so I used the cheaper Alprose pareve bars, which worked great. Def have to make this again. Thanks AnnaBanana
