Soft marshmallow filling surrounded with a toffee and krispy coating. We like to make these for our Christmas trays. I don't know if you can get MacIntosh toffee in the USA. We find them with the chocolate bars.
- 3 macintosh toffee bars
- 1⁄2 cup condensed milk
- 1⁄2 cup margarine
- 24 large marshmallows
- 4 cups Rice Krispies
- Over low heat, melt the toffee bars, condensed milk and margarine.
- Dip the marshmallows into the toffee mixture.
- Roll in the rice krispies.
- These can be kept covered at room temp for a couple of day, freezes well.
- For smaller balls, cut the marshmallows in half before dipping.
These were super easy to make. I some how managed to need more then 24 marshmallows and ran out of Rice Krispies so I made a few with Just Right cereal. While I really liked them they didnt seem to go over well with my extended family but there was a pile of treats to choose from. I am not letting their opinion count. Thanks for a great easy recipe.
Thank you for this recipe! I have been asked for it by almost everyone that tries them. They are more popular than cookies or squares....with both adults and kids. I now double the recipe to use up the whole can of condensed milk. I use a skewer to dip the marshmellow in the toffee mixture and then shake off the excess. I get more than 24....with a double recipe I just got 78. I also mix Rice Krispies with Special K.
These have become a christmas tradition in my family!!! I use the holiday rice krispies, they are everyones fav treat.
