Mark, a friend from work, submitted this in a work chili cook-off, however he gave it the title White Potato Chili...everyone loved it!!! This dish can also heat in a crockpot...

  1. Put veggies in pot.
  2. Drain clam juice into veggie pot.
  3. Add water to cover.
  4. Boil until tender.
  5. Make white sauce with remaining ingredients.
  6. Melt butter.
  7. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper.
  8. Cook for 3 or 4 minutes.
  9. Add half and half, stirring continuously until thick.
  10. Add clams and veggies to white sauce.
  11. Heat through.

Way too much flour for my taste. I would prolly sacrifice some of the thickness for less flour. Followed directions to a tee. Kinda bland.

EXCELLENT! I never measure . I started off with way too much potatoes (3 1/2 cups ?) so I used the broth of 4 cans of chopped clams. I did not add water. I used celery salt instead of salt.

I also added old bay seasoning. ( 1 TBSP ?)

The result was very thick so I added a bottle of clam juice

Perfect!

I chose this recipe because the sodium content is way lower than other recipes posted. I thought it might be bland BUT I,m so glad I was wrong
