Made this on Friday, I used grouper since I didn't have any shark steaks (already ate them) and it was very good. The only other thing I did differently was to chop up a couple portabello mushrooms and a tomato into the bottom of my pan and put fish and marinade ontop. Will try this soon with shark on the barbie!

This is absolutely delicious!! Son's boss blessed him with 10 lbs. of thresher shark steaks. We've eaten shark prepared by others, but never having cooked it myself, I searched for recipes. Found this one, tried it several times, and the results have been perfect each time. I thoroughly pierced each piece with a sharp fork and marinated for the full hour. Tender and tasty!! Thank you!! Will try this with other fish as well!

We recently moved to south FL. Black-tip sharks abound here - not endangered, or threatened, and we obey bag limits. :) We learned from the locals the strict cleaning process...and we soaked the meat in fresh water overnight, then in milk for 6-8 hours. After that, however, I really had no idea how to go about cooking shark. (And, we were out of propane for the grill!) So, I found myself staring at this recipe last night...and it was a huge success!! Everyone - kids and hubby - loved it! I doubled everything, just because we had so much meat. Our "steaks" were also more like slender fillets...maybe that helped them absorb the flavor. Either way, this was terrific and it is going in the "Save" file!! Thanks!
