Marinated Asparagus With Sesame

  • Snap off tough ends of asparagus.
  • Bring about one inch of water to boil in a wide pot or frying pan.
  • Add asparagus, off heat, and cover; let steam for 3 - 5 minutes, until asparagus is bright green and crisp-tender.
  • Drain; immerse asparagus in ice water until cool, then drain again.
  • Place asparagus in shallow container and add sesame oil and rice wine vinegar.
  • Cover and refrigerate until cold, about 30 minutes or more.
  • When ready to serve, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.

Since then I've tried dozens of new recipes, learned how to make soap, and spent lots more time in my garden. Recently a nieghbor and I started raising chickens so we could have fresh eggs.
