The yummiest marinade ever! I use with flank steak and there is never enough for my family!
- 1⁄2 cup olive oil
- 1⁄2 cup soy sauce
- 1⁄4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 8 large garlic cloves, minced
- 4 teaspoons rosemary, crushed
- Mix ingredients in bowl whisking in olive oil last -- very slowly. Marinate 24 hours.
My family enjoyed this marinade. The balsamic vinegar and the soy sauce balanced each other out well. I only made a 1/2 batch since this recipe makes more marinade than we typically use. I was out of fresh garlic when I made it so I used 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, but not sure if that was the right amount of garlic. My family agrees though if it did it with more garlic it would only be better.
This was way too salty for us. Even using low-sodium soy sauce, the proportion of soy to the other ingredients seemed overpowering. The addition of something sweet, like hoisin or teriyaki, would help balance the flavors, too.
