Margarita Jello Shots of the Jello Masters

Inspiration for this shot comes from the Jello Maven himself, Chaz Bosten Baden, and his archive of Jello shot recipes at http://www.boston-baden.com/hazel/Jello/. I have altered it to suit my tastes and used many other shots from his site, having since been named the "Jello Shot Master" by my friends.

Ingredients:

Serves: 16

Yield: 32.0 shots

• 1 (6 ounce) box lime Jell-O gelatin (large box)
• 2 cups boiling water
• 1 cup cold water
• 1⁄8; cup fresh-squeezed lime juice
• ¾ cup clear tequila
• ¼ cup triple sec

Directions:

1. Mix boiling water and Jello. Stir for a minute until dissolved. Add rest of ingredients, stir.
2. Pour into small paper dixie cups, cool on one or two cookies sheets stacked in the refrigerator.
3. Unless you use ice and water for the cold water, allow 5 or more hours for Jello to cool and set.
4. For every party I throw, I'll make this recipe and one more from Hazel's site to satisfy the partygoers.

I've perfected this recipe, try this for shots that tastes more like a real margarita and has a higher alcohol content:

- Lime Jello (6oz box)
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1 1/2 cups tequila (cold)
- 1/4 cup triple sec (cold)
- 1/4 cup margarita mix (cold)
- 1/8 cup fresh squeezed lime juice

My best friend and I also do jello shots on demand. You tell us what you drink, we turn it into a jello shot. After our combined number of years bartending, we haven't been unable to create one on demand yet. This is the same basic recipe we use for our margarita shots. If you don't have triple sec on hand, a splash of orange juice will do the trick. Also, try these with strawberry jello for a strawberry margarita... we like to rim the edge in sugar, just for looks. Definitely open your imagination up and play with this! Once you know the basic measurements you really can run your own jello drink factory!

Simply amazing....I halved the recipe b/c they were just for a few of us, and I wanted to have a few other flavors. I could have made them ALL from this recipe and would have been happy!!!
