This was my favorite chicken when I was a child over 30 years ago. It calls for "Funya" bean curd (a fermented tofu product) which can be found at asian markets. This is a key ingredient, and well worth the search. Cook time does not include marinating time.
- Mix first 6 ingredients together.
- Stir in chicken.
- Marinate up to 24 hours.
- Coat chicken pieces in flour and fry until cooked through.
I used regular firm tofu as you can see in the picture. I used 2 chicken breast because the recipe didn`t specify parts or size.I marinated overnight. This was very tasty and very sweet. I will try this again using fermented bean curd.
