It was pretty good bread, just wasn't what I was expecting. Think I'll stick to more cinnamony breads from here on out.
Overall a really good bread. I doubled the maple syrup (still wasn't very sweet) and used brown sugar in place of powdered sugar. I also used 1/4 C ground flax meal in place of 1/4 C of flour. And I only had a fresh lemon so I used that zest and it was good. I think orange zest would be better though. It's really good with cream cheese on it :)
WOW! This is the absolute best bread I've ever made in my bread machine bar none! Of course, there were tweaks. At DH's request, I added 1/2 cup walnuts along with the raisins, I doubled the amount of maple syrup, I used brown sugar instead of powdered sugar, and I substituted 1/2 cup of the bread flour with 1/4 cup flax seed meal and 1/4 cup unprocessed wheat bran. I also subbed 2 tbsp. wheat gluten for the additional 2 tbsp. bread flour, and I used fresh grated orange peel rather than the dried, which really added something special to the bread. Thanks for posting a really great bread machine recipe!
This is wonderful bread, I have made it twice already. The only thing i have done different is used pancake syrup instead of maple syrup. I love this recipe i did think it was a little different with powdered sugar instead of regular sugar though but it tastes great. Thanks for a great recipe ...
Delicious! I used fresh orange peel - about 1 T. , and I missed the beeping for adding the raisins. I will be making this again.
This is a very yummy spice bread. I can't wait to make french toast with it this morning! I have to admit, I used the dough cycle, and then pulled it out of my bread machine and tried to make 2 regular loaves out of it. Bad idea. Not to say I wouldn't pull it out again, but it's only enough for one loaf. I baked at 350 for 30 minutes, which gave me a nice dark (not burned) crust. I also used golden raisins in this, as that is all I have in the pantry right now. *grins* Thank you for posting, made for ZWT4.
This is delicious! A sweet bread fit for the coffee table! While it was still warm, I slathered butter on a slice, I simply could not resist! Would make an interesting French toast, or a side at breakfast such as you would have a muffin. Thanks, Annacia, for another great bread machine bread! Made for ZWT4.
