Maple Syrup Acorn Squash

"My grandmother gave me a recipe like this that she had made one night. Long story short, I couldn't get to it, and I had a (slightly overripe) squash on hand, so I tried this instead. I want to try to cook this longer at a lower temperature. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/baked-acorn-squash-with-brown-sugar-and-butter-recipe.html"

directions

  • Cut the squash into 1/8ths with a serrated knife. (Having just tried horizontally, I recommend vertically.).
  • Microwave butter to soften.
  • Combine butter, sugar, and maple syrup in a small mixing bowl, stir until the texture is consistant.
  • Place the squash on a pan with a raised edge or a casserole dish. (the smallest you can fit it in to).
  • Spoon the mixture onto the squash.
  • Cook at 400 F for 45 minutes to an hour.
