This came from rummaging through my friend's fridge & cupboard when I was staying in Canada recently. Everyone was shocked when I put maple syrup into a marinade, but it tasted great - even the kids loved the results. Works very well with pork and chicken.

  1. Mix marinade ingredients together.
  2. Pour over meat.
  3. Allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes before cooking, preferably on the barbeque. I normally marinate for 1-2 hours if I'm organised enough.

This was lovely thank you! I can't have honey so maple syrup was perfect. I also used tamari and added 1/4 tsp of liquid smoke thanks to the other comment. Used it on pork rashers in the airfryer! Delish!

I loved the little sweetness of the marinade. I used homemade soy sauce (no sodium) I used one garlic clove. I marinated boneless skinless chicken breasts. Thanks Heydarl. Made for the Babes of ZWT4

Made for ZWT4...This was ok. I marinated it for about 5 hours and used boneless skinless chicken breasts. They were very moist which is why I gave it 4 stars. There was not much flavor except the soy though. I was expecting a little sweeter from the maple syrup. I might try again one day but add more stuff to it.
