Mercy, this was good!! I did add about 1/2 teaspoon more salt, and a handful of plain breadcrumbs. For the sauce I used 1/2 ketchup and 1/2 chili sauce, and pure maple syrup. It was the best meatloaf sauce I've stumbled on. Next time we may splurge even more & add a few strips of bacon, which would pair well with the sage & maple syrup. Served with mashed potatoes & peas for a savory, country-style TV dinner. Thanks for sharing!

I was a little concerned that there were no breadcrumbs or oatmeal in this, as it was very wet, so I added some oatmeal. I used ground turkey, light sour cream, 1 T parsley (ran out), rehydrated minced onions and the ketchup/brown sugar option. Adults liked it, kids were so-so. It seemed to have a strong sagey taste, even with only 1/2 tsp; maybe it was the missing parsley. As I said, adults liked it, but I will probably stick to my meatloaf, in hopes that the kids will eat it! :) Tagged in I Recommend.

Loved the sauce on top! I used maple syrup. Never thought of using maple syrup that way. Thanks for sharing, Mercy. Made for "I Recommend" game.

This is by far the best meatloaf recipe I have ever tried. It was moist and had a wonderful flavor. I like it as it does not use any fillers and the topping was great. Will definitely try again.

This is absolutely delicious. I've made it twice now, and the only thing I did different this time was I doubled the sauce. Even my DH and oldest DS who are picky meatloag eaters not only ate it up but suggested I not change a thing with the recipe (which is rare). GREAT RECIPE MERCY!!! THANKS!!!

I've made this twice now...and the family agrees it deserves 5 stars for taste alone! I sauteed the onions (rather than microwaved) before adding them to the meat mixture. DH liked the lack of carbs generally used as binder and we used steak sauce (low carbs) on his corner for flavor - but the kiddos loved your maple syrup sauce. Great flavor - happy family - what more can I say other than Merci Mercy!

I made this recipe for my husband one night and he loved it. It was the best meatloaf I've ever made!! I used brown sugar since I wasn't sure that sugar-free syrup would work. :) Thanks so much for sharing.

Yummy! I used lean ground beef and light sour cream. A dense meatloaf since there are none of the spongy fillers added, but Mercy's right, this does allow more of the fat to bake out. The sauce is sweet but really delicious and I loved the addition of maple syrup. Thanks for sharing your recipe!

I used ground round instead of chuck (ground chuck tastes too greasy to me). This loaf is quite dense but that is what I liked about it. I like a sweet, tangy sauce on meatloaf and this one was excellent. I made mine in a standard size loaf pan. My husband made a sandwich with the left-overs the next day. He said it was fabulous. Thanks Mercy.

5* all the way. I had about 2 pounds but kept the other measurements the same. I made 3 small loaf pans, 1 for supper today and 2 for the freezer. Just 2 of us here. I just used ketchup and maple syrup for the topping. Didn't have any bq sauce, and I forgot to add the mustard. I put the topping on before I put in the oven as I only needed to cook for 30 min. in the mini-loaf pan.

Thoroughly enjoyed! I had never made meatloaf with sour cream before, but it was a very tasty mixture. The sauce on top was a real hit. I used the chili sauce and brown sugar, but next time want to try the maple syrup- since maple is in the name :) I really loved my meatloaf sandwich the next day too, with ketchup and miracle whip added to the bread! Yum!! Thanks, Mercy.
