Pork chops marinated in a maple syrup sauce. Delicious. Prep time does not include time for marinating.

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 4 pork chops (I use lean, boneless pork chops)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 13 cup maple syrup (use real maple syrup only)
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 limes (optional)
  • 12 teaspoon dried thyme
  • salt and pepper

Directions

  1. Combine oil, maple syrup, garlic, thyme, and juice and grated peel from limes; add pork chops.
  2. Marinate pork chops for 1 hour or more in fridge.
  3. Drain pork chops, reserving marinade.
  4. In a large skillet, brown pork chops on both sides.
  5. Reduce heat; cover and continue cooking 5 minutes.
  6. Add marinade and cook 2-3 minutes longer.
  7. Add salt and pepper to taste.

This recipe is very simple and quick to make...great for after work. It didnt quite suit my taste though. I found it to be way to "lime-y", and really wasnt sure if I liked the lime and maple together. I do like both of these ingredients, but I didnt like the mix very much, but that is subjective to my taste. Sorry, but this one's just not for me.

A.W.E.S.O.M.E. SO much fun when a recipe exceeds expectations. I think the key was that we used real maple syrup (had a little tiny bottle tucked away in the cabinet that we'd never opened). Also, we used center-cut, boneless, really, really lean chops. Visually appealing, with the dark brown glaze (good sauce for boiled potatoes, by the way). Bless you for posting this!

2 words....Loved it. The only change I made, was I left out the lime, didn't think it would really go. I just used your run of the mill store bought maple syrup and it tasted great, but I'm sure if you use the real deal stuff it would taste way better.
