- 4 boneless pork chops, about 1-1/4 inches thick
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
- 1⁄2 cup maple syrup
- 1⁄4 cup cider vinegar
- 1⁄4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- fresh coarse ground black pepper, to taste
- Saute onion in oil until tender, about 2 -3 minutes. Stir in syrup, vinegar, mustard, soy sauce and pepper. Let simmer gently for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Grill chops over medium-hot coals for 7-8 minutes, until nicely browned. Turn chops and brush liberally with glaze. Grill for 5 minutes more. Turn and brush with glaze for 3 minutes more, or until chops are done and nicely glazed. Do not overcook. Serve chops immediately.
Loved these pork chops! I used boneless chops that DH cooked on the grill. The glaze is wonderful and would be very nice on a sirloin or thick butterflied pork chop. Used half of a medium onion and olive oil than added remaining ingredients. Simmered until the glaze coated my wooden spoon. This would also be good on chicken wings. :) Thanks Lvs for posting!
