This is a nice change from Harvard beets etc. We have beets quite of ten and this will join in the ranks of our favorite. It is so easy and the lemon gives some zip in combination with the Maple syrup Thanks Mirj -
if fresh beets out of season, use same amounts of canned and proceed exactly the same as mirj, but eliminate 30 minutes in oven-hers is VERY EASY and JUST DELICIOUS !!!!!! Thanks Mirj

I'm making this for my mom and dad on Thanksgiving and think it's going to turn out great. I am a HUGE fan of beets, and a huge fan of Maple, so I'm sure putting the two together will be a hit!
Very delicious! I added an extra tablespoon of maple syrup, and kept it in the oven (the second part) for extra 20 mins. (total of 1h 20 mins) - came out sweet tender and delicious. Thank you!
Very good recipe that a 3 year old is happy to eat. Very easy. The sauce didn't thicken up after the time allotted but still very edible.
