Maple Creme Brulee for Two

While most recipes for creme brulee are heavy on granulated sugar, this one uses real maple syrup. It's rich and delicious and serves two, so no temptation to over-indulge. (Of course, feel free to double or triple the recipe to feed guests!)

  1. Use a 2 cup measure to measure and combine all ingredients except sugar in the order listed.
  2. Pour mixture into two ramekins or custard cups.
  3. Place ramekins into loaf pan.
  4. Pour very hot water into the loaf pan, about halfway up the ramekins.
  5. Place loaf pan in preheated 300 degree oven.
  6. Bake for 45-55 minutes until mostly set.
  7. Cool and chill thoroughly.
  8. Sprinkle each ramekin with 1 tsp raw (or regular) granulated sugar.
  9. Brulee with a kitchen torch until brown and melty on top.
  10. Enjoy immediately!
