Maple Cookies

"have not tried this recipe myself...a friend gave it to me.."

• Yields: 4 dozen

ingredients

• 1⁄2 cup Crisco
• 1⁄2 cup sugar
• 1 cup brown sugar, packed
• 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
• 1 cup sour cream
• 1 tablespoon maple flavoring
• 2 3⁄4 cups flour
• 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup chopped nuts

• MAPLE GLAZE

• 1⁄2 cup butter
• 2 cups powdered sugar
• 3 tablespoons hot water
• 2 teaspoons maple flavoring

directions

1. combine crisco, sugar and eggs thoroughly stir in sour cream and maple extract.
2. in seperate bowl, mix flour, baking soda and salt.blend into sugar mixture -- stir in nuts and drop by rounded tblsful 2" apart on greased sheet --
3. bake at 375* for 10 minutes or not imprint when lightly touched.
4. cool throughly on wire rack.
5. to prepare GLAZE:.
6. heat butter till golden.do not burn -- mix in powdered sugar and flavoring.stir in water gradually until icing is smooth.
